Expect Great &
Mighty Things !!!

Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you
great and mighty things, which you do not know.'
Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJ)

“Hey Chopper, I know you have said we should expect to encounter God as we seek him out. What should we do to seek God out?

“That's a good question Simon. Pastor Rick and Pops told me that if I wanted to seek God out I should study what Jesus said; read the Gospel; do what Christ asked; and to teach others to do what Jesus told us to do.

“Sort of like when Jesus said:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.
                               Matthew 28:20 (NKJV)

“That's right Simon, when Jesus spoke, he used verbs. GO, TEACH, FEED, OBSERVE, etc.  Verbs that require an action on our part.  Pastor Rick and Pops said one of the keys to seeking Jesus out is to observe what he has commanded.

I believe that God is calling us to a radical level of obedience.  Our focus will be to find a seat on the ground in front of Jesus, listening to His words as the disciples once did. We have asked the Holy Spirit to provide us guidance and instruction so that we may understand what Christ meant when he spoke.  We will be working our way through Jesus words, trying to gain an understanding of what Jesus meant, so that these words can transform our lives.

We simply ask the Holy Spirit to tell us not what we want to hear, but what we need to hear.

As we seek him out, as I, you, we seek to listen to him, expect the unexpected.  Expect God to meet us in miraculous ways.  Moses walked up to the Red Sea, pinned to the Red Sea still expecting.  Do you think for a minute he expected to see the Red Sea part.  Not on your life.  But Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.  God could part a Red Sea for me, for you, or for us.  We need to come expecting.

How do you think that blind man felt as Jesus rubbed mud in his eye. Do you think he expected to Jesus to rub mud in his eye so that he could see? I'm sure he came expecting to have mud rubbed in his eye so that he could see. NOT!! But that is what happened.  If we come expecting God to do things within our levels of understanding, we will more than likely miss God.  However, if we seek God with an open mind and ask God to help us find him, he has promised he will.

“Hey that's cool, count me in, I want to sit at Jesus feet and learn to observe all things that Jesus commanded us.

Won't you join us? Jesus has been waiting for a people to come and sit at his feet, to observe all things that Jesus has commanded.  Would you please consider making a commitment to come and learn from the Rabbi, to ask the Holy Spirit to be your teacher so that we might obey what Jesus taught us?

If your heart is as ours, won't you pray with us:

Father in heaven, you have been desiring to have a people walk in your ways, help us to be attentive, help us to be moldable, we submit ourselves as clay on the potter's wheel to be shaped and molded into your vessel.  Teach us to obey all things you have commanded.  Teach us to seek your heart and to demonstrate our love for you by our obedience to your will.  Send us your Holy Spirit that he might instruct us in your ways.

In Jesus Christ precious name we pray. Amen.
